…but it's low-cost and low-risk.

if it plants a seed for more collective action, then it's good; if it's just an outlet for people to feel like they did something and that's all they do, then it's bad

Good feelings of solidarity and connectedness are important right now, but it's also too easy for our goodwill to be highjacked and usurped. In a world where it's too easy to just mash the reshare button, we have to have healthy skepticism of what wagon we're hitching ourselves up to.
