I think an underappreciated part of why higher wages didn't translate into support for Biden was that everyone in America considers themselves a consumer first and foremost, not a worker

👇🎯 Again, your periodic reminders that it is not the 1950s anymore, the median voter works in the nontradable services sector, therefore she experiences international trade as a consumer, the balance of payments has two sides, & the mercantilism is just going to make everyone a lot poorer.
