I've never muted an artist for posting art, or an author for promoting their book, but I do mute people who constantly spam memes, which mostly seems to be authors lol

What a strange stance to take (them, not you). I follow artists on here because I like to see their art, so the more reposts the better. This is like going into a book store and getting pissed off by all the books on the shelves

Yes! And since bsky is not algorithmic if you don’t self repost most people just won’t see your stuff. It will get lost in the chronological feeds if most people who follow tons of accs.
So it’s like getting mad at bookstore workers for updating the shelves as the books get “sold”

It's not like they can't just mute the word "repost" instead of muting an artist, FFS.

Technical capabilities of the app/site aside, being mad when someone shows you REAL art you're not having to pay for and not just scrolling past if you don't like it doesn't make sense.
