In my experience over 50 years most of the sexual harassment came from overweight bald men of a certain age. But that wasn’t relevant. Either they were harassing or they weren’t! And there are processes in place during which nobody involved should be making comments.

I'm a middle class woman of a certain age and I've always found him creepy and unpalatable to watch. He could have got through this with his career intact though if he'd accepted he's been inappropriate and made an effort to change. Attacking his victims only confirms his guilt in my mind.

A couple of friends bumped into him at a food event years ago and told me afterwards that he’d made them feel very uncomfortable with uninvited innuendo. Neither are prudes, far from it, but they stopped watching Masterchef after that! I’d forgotten about it til this week.

I loathe this ‘othering’ of older women. ‘Karen’ calling is the modern version of calling women witches. It harks back to the idea that an older woman should be silenced. If someone is being a plonker call them out for that, without referencing their gender or age.
