I didn't love the pacing of the first arc, but having talked to Pepose about the book, I know that the book was a sendoff for Conan, and it had to be those five issues. Still, I had a fun time with it. I'm not one to read team books, yet I had a blast with it! cont.

Secondly, I read Punisher: The Bullet That Follows by David Pepose and Dave Watcher! I was very hesitant, as many Punisher fans were. I was immediately caught with Dave Watcher's art. It isn't stuff that I haven't seen before, but it is done incredibly well. cont.

As I said, I was hesitant to read this book. I am a big Punisher guy. Frank Castle has the ability to bring about some of the most interesting stories. To me, he is the most grounded/street level character in comics, despite the fact he is surrounded by the insanity of the Marvel Universe. cont.

Punisher can be the most gritty stories like we see in Garth Ennis's take on the character, or can embrace Marvel's madness as we see in Rick Remender's and Jason Aaron's (for Aaron, specifically King of Killers) time with the character. But there is one aspect that Frank embodies. cont.

If Castle was a response to those 80s action flicks, Garrison was a response to the mid 2010s action movies. I'm talking the Denzel Washington Equalizer films, John Wick, Nobody, etc. Pepose, et al. are very keen on this idea. Garrison is a retired SHIELD agent who is forced back into the war. cont.
