I'm disturbed by NPR's 'On Point' segment yesterday with a guy who wrote a book on how we overreacted to Covid. Great way to encourage Monday quarterbacking. Of course we overreacted, but the methods that were free and accessible (masks and distancing) bought us time for vaccines and perspective.

It’s societal madness. There are decades of proof regarding the safety and efficacy of the measles vaccine.

It’s madness to subject children to disease unnecessarily when a known preventative is readily available.

Failure to vaccinate will cause measles to return endangering everyone.

In my infancy, measles was very common, so were the horrible effects of it. The one that scared most mothers was blindness, but there were others. Then came the vaccine and within a very few years, measles disappeared. If it returns, the anti vaccine lot bear criminal responsibility.

I get “disturbed” but no one should be shocked. One glance at Texas’ voting results over the last 20 years or so should make this, and many other circumstances, plainly expected.
