I was at Salute yesterday, and seeing a lot of versions of the riffs on the iconic Imperial Guard regiments, which had me thinking about the thing I haven't seen. Has anyone done a range based on the original Imperial Guard?

Also worthy of consideration is Stargrave's Troopers box. These are 20 multi-part plastic models from a UK company. Weapons would need longer barrels for a closer match, but they'd work quite well.
GW's Cadians are actually the direct evolution of the "5th Arcadian Regiment", which later became Cadians in 2nd Edition. https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/1/15/ArcadianArt.jpg
The current Cadian models with some adapted weapons and a suitable paintjob would in fact work rather well as an updated version of these.
Oh wow. I'd not seen that before. It's like someone tried to draw American football but their only frame of reference for outdoor activities was historic battle re-enactment.
(I mean, I say "it's like", not ruling that out tbh)
Thats my favourite guard image, reminds me of US civil war line of advance with the flags and how they are holding their long rifles like the old muskets.
I don’t think so as I’d probably have bought some. I’m still surprised GW haven’t done updated versions for the Imperial Army in Horus Heresy, given they unleashed the Wombles in modern plastic glory

The most "direct" likeness is from Mad Robot Miniatures:

These are resin and ship from the US.

Also, I didn't bump into you or Jamie. Boo.
Are they the Road Warriors from WCW?
