This is why I have lots of hope for young/first-time voters... if your political memory begins at the 2016 election so that your entire culturally aware life has been *(gestures wildly)* plus you've been running active shooter drills since kindergarten and politicians call you soft when speaking up?

A reminder to my colleagues in the humanities: a twenty year old was likely born in 2004, which means their cultural memory begins in roughly 2014 when they were 10. Pixar’s Inside Out came out in 2015, 45 was elected in 2016, Adele and Rihanna were the top singers.
