The definition of "cured" has always been a bit tricky, as a person with HIV can be found to be symptom free, yet there is still a small residue of virus hiding out in the body that can flare back up when antibiotics are not administered. Did they actually eradicate it from the body?

With CCR5 mutation the virus cannot enter your white blood cells.
It literally has nowhere to hide. It just dies out.
