Android wants two weeks of testing before I can submit the app (which already works!) to the Play Store.
Does anybody know how we might get around these restrictions?

Also "you must run a closed test for your app with a minimum of 12 testers who have been opted-in for at least the last 14 days continuously."
Let us know how we can help here. I've set up internal testing at work, feel free to reach out if needed.

Not exactly the easiest process, but it would get the app out there faster.
It's super easy to sideload on Android; much easier than IOS
Until the apps are approved.
FDroid and Obtainium exist, and you just might get useful feedback from the kind of people who are familiar with that kinda shit that would help before you got it up on Play.
I saw that with my last release and I didn't need it.
Upload it as Beta(? Has two similar ~channels), release that - then publish to Prod(? forgot the name) channel
But yeah, if the developer doesn't control their signing keys, the APK version will need a separate app ID, which is inconvenient in many ways
