I don’t purchase from TPRS books since the company made a donation to political initiatives to ban gay marriage.

The plan is to offer a bunch of titles with descriptions and let the students work together to choose the book we’ll read. So the more recommendations the better!

Mi planta de naranja lima was a clasic for me. Though it's a Brazilian Portuguese original, it's still beautiful in Spanish and culturaly relevant.

Isabel Allende's Jaguar and Eagle series (3 books) Mysticism, Legends and Magic, good read for young people, she writes in Castilian Spanish.
There's an English version also. I read these many, many years ago.
In comparison to Harry Potter, some mature themes.

As a Spanish speaker myself, I adored Kika Superbruja, Capitán Calzoncillos and Manolito Gafotas (this would be better for older students though, but have a look). Also, now Diario de Greg, Futbolísimos & Olivia Mars are very trendy! (Please bear in mind this is in Spain!). Good luck! 🥰
