there has never been a real JRPG opposition, the industry just arbitrarily decided there was after Final Fantasy X sold incredibly well and remained popular for years

It took a decade and TBFP to undo the damage reviewers like Sessler did.
I'm saying is Slaughterhouse (360) was jank, but that good jank that was pretty hype and that needs to come back.
And FFX was the one of the last times that happened because the PS2's graphical capabilities cause vaguely anime stylized things to come off as "pass" as realism
they want a turn based RPG with the "feel" of final fantasy.
Mainly this boils down to i think insanely high levels of presentation.
As you said in your other posts RPGs have been doing well these past few years regardless.
