Don’t presume I’m unfamiliar with the management/editorial staff at Age. Most are personally leveraged to the hilt and think that Victorian public opinion is what they hear at Wesley parent association meetings.
Disagree. For longer than a decade been a soft propaganda political arse paper sheet. Example, the recent “expose” on the liberal legal fees for Bike accident which was just vehicle to peddle a stale old smear of Andrews.
If I’m wrong perhaps it’s because “I don’t know Jen”
The Age is anti-union, anti-worker, anti-renter, transphobic, Islamophobic, Zionist, elitist. half it's stories are about real estate. it's "best days" were decades ago
A reminder that you should call The Age and complain on 13 66 66.
The ad obviously denies the humanity of non-binary people, so is a breach of the national advertising standards against vilification. Seek an apology and a withdrawal of the ad.
This is especially the case if you're a subscriber..
These replies are terrifying. Dozens of people saying this isnt anything other than what they would expect. Would you all be too jaded to care if it was about Jewish people, or Indigenous people, or an attack on Asian people? This is a significant escalation in hate speech to have it printed here.
yeah
im more scared of what people passively tolerate while making cynical comments
than of the nazis they're tolerating, because at least the nazis arent popular. its what they get people to passively let slide that makes them dangerous.
I find it incredible that they accepted the ad at all. But I recall what a great salesman once told me: the best way to get even with a customer you despise is to take their money… aka, sell them something. Clive is burning his money, let’s hope all of it.
I’m not even surprised to be honest. We already saw that publication’s true colours during the same-sex marriage debate nearly a decade ago. I live for the day that we get to dance on the grave of that dismal excuse for a news outlet.
“…The Age refuses to allow Palmer…to avoid criticism and scrutiny by mounting an election campaign via unchallenged advertising slogans. We will continue to criticise and scrutinise in our editorial coverage, as we do today, throughout the election campaign.”
Bigot in chief Chip Le Grand woulda made sure the ad ran. The Age has almost done more to foment hate towards gender diverse people than the Murdoch rags. The legitimacy they’ve lent to a campaign of rabid hate is a disgrace. Running that ad is indeed disgusting but I find it entirely unsurprising.

I'd call them whores, but whores have standards.
