Ok this is like the fifth time i've asked this, but what would be a good way to start taking commissions?
If i ever find the time to slowly start taking comms, ill probably start small here on bsky first lol

Kori has an option for commissions separated from the tipping one.
So if for example you where to say “I want to open 8 slots for icon commissions” you could do that without affecting the tip jar. And once 8 people “bought” the commissions it would automatically close.
Depends on how you want to go about it and what you want to draw. Feel free to dm me and i can respond as fast as I can!
do you need help with prices? How to manage incoming requests? how to take payment? etc
If I do eventually open comms, I'll mostly try to keep it here to hopefully incentivise people to move over here from Twitter lol.
Then i have a caard with a price sheet, where people can email me if they want something bigger/fancier than what's on Ko-Fi.
Some people use VGEN, but its catered more towards "by VTubers, for VTubers".
Otherwise yeah, KoFi.
However, every time i go to the front page (which is, arguably, the DISCOVERY page), its always Twitch emotes, Stream assets, and VTuber Model previews. It definitely feels skewed in favor of VTuber content.
Each have pros and cons to them.
Make a carrd https://carrd.co/ (look up examples of people who have one for commissions) and set up an e-mail for this.
Or lookup a service like Vgen (but those take fees for each transaction).
Skeb-like commissions are basically no-contact, you get a request that can be more or less specific and the artist has lots of freedom, the commissioner only gets the final result
Although it is weird that they still only allow Twitter logins, especially since they literally sponsor Misskey
Pixiv should also offer similar services btw
Consider giving it a shot with a couple YCH's to test the waters? You have the option to set your TOS and turnover times on it.
Kofi is pretty great as well.
Sometimes making a ych is easier to get quick comms for quick money.
And a ych sounds boring tbh. As much as I'd like it to be easy, I wanna have fun with my art
I think setting some boundaries there is important.
But overall I think they're *really* fun, I'm glad I started doing them.
If somepony commissions 30 minutes but asks for 2 15 minute sketches, is that OK? What if they squeeze in 3 10 sketches?
Just something to be aware of.
