Not a Toffee, but he had one of my favourite football memories. A forward challenged Southall for a high ball by jumping into him. The result was Nev caught the ball whilst said forward was a heap on the ground. Brilliant and funny.

Big man won’t remember this but I was a ball boy at Hampden when Scotland played wales in 1985. I was always there early as my grandpa had a job with the press. Nev took myself and another ballboy onto the park and let us play a bit with him and a ball. Absolute legend
