It is how they write Putin's name in French, in Dutch it is written as Poetin. Its hard to translate cyrillic into the latin alphabet, so we kinda use whatever works to make it sound sort of the same as it would in Russian. Zelensky in German = Selenskyj, for example 👍

Huh, never thought about that. Had a serbian friend who taught me a few rules of the cyrillic alphabet, but all of that was more direct letter to letter stuff, so I didn't know there were more phonetic translations like that. Funny that his name is a greasy dish though.

Now, let’s be clear: EU leadership wants to keep at war cause a BIG chunk of our GDP comes from weapons manufacture & the business around it. AND we kept buying russian gas. Europeans do not want war. Zelensky was installed & convinced to keep at war, balls of iron & all that, he’s leadership too.
