WWII wasn’t really an alliance with Russia, simply two factions fighting the same enemy. Stupidly Hitler opened the Eastern front against a former ally USSR. If he hadn’t then not only would the USSR have been supporting Hitler but he would have had a better chance of winning. We were lucky.
