For anyone who has ever worked with a funeral director or Decedent Affairs, (I have) knows that the day they pass is the day is the day the SS benefits cease. As the Death Certificate is prepared, SSA is notified. Unless you bury your loved one in the woods and don't tell anyone, the checks stop.
