-Entry fee? I'd say "yes" just for operating costs, especially if a venue needed it as incentive to host it. $5 bucks cash or Venmo at the door which goes directly to the venue
-Promotion: avoiding fiddly so primarily bsky posts. Maybe a meetup page to gauge turnout? (Do people still use Meetup?)

This is just to say I'm not on Square One regarding a sense of what a meetup like this requires and next steps.
I'll take any constructive suggestions but please give me more confidence in you than "how about this bar right down the street from me" for ideas. As I said, I've passed Event Planning 101
There's a really great meetup in Bklyn called Victory Pints (near the Lucky 13 bar) on Monday nights. I wouldn't want to blow up their gig though, because I could just go to theirs
- queer community center public space
- barnes & noble cafe section (a big one, no fights over seating)
- enormous multilevel bars that are E M P T Y on mondays
- family oriented irish bars (haha . . . chicago)
I think I'll primarily promote on Bluesky since it's low-to-no cost to opt-in and still more of a "hang" than a ticketed event.
Locally near me hosts organize free weekend monthly meetups at the public libraries.
So "private" space is to make sure they reserve an area for us specifically
