I get the farm has excellent depth and that depth is at middle infield spots that are highly coveted, but given the bust rate of low minors prospects I just can’t see ranking a farm with essentially one impact prospect above High A as the very best in the sport.

Totally believe it’s a good farm. I’m sure when everyone’s rankings are out they’ll be consensus Top 5-10 and that’s great. I’d just trade one legit Top 3 superstar upside guy banging the door down to MLB over five 19-year olds tearing up short season ball.

This stats-based projection for peak wrc+ of all minor leaguers has 4 Ms prospects in the top 25. Obviously no one ranking system is perfect but it's interesting to see a very different approach to Keith Law's have a similar output.

It also seems like a few of these guys are 2B only prospects, so there will be trades down the line and the Dipoto/Stanton regime has a mixed trade record. How many of these good prospects will we end up including in salary dump trades?

the problem is that all of their "top prospects" are like 2-3 years away from MLB unless someone surprises us in spring training and forces the team to bring them up.
