The Transgender Law Center is the US's largest national, trans-led organization, which fights for the rights of all people's to make their own choices about their own gender and gender presentation/expression.

Since TLC was founded in 2002, the organization has since won groundbreaking cases such as Whitaker v. Kenosha Unified School District (2017), and continues to fight against unjust, anti-transgender legislation.

TLC has also helped found many programs such as the Black Trans Circles project, which focuses on helping Black Trans Women find their place into leadership positions in Southern and Midwest state communities.

Since 2023, TLC has been lead by Shelby Chestnut, of the Assiniboine tribe native to Montana. They have a historied career with law and leadership, having helped solidify the Violence Against Women Act and the Right To Know Act.
