I don't entirely agree, especially since you can be kind in a self-destructive way without just wanting a situation to go away. Sometimes it's just about justifying your self destruction to yourself, if you get what I mean?
But your core point would still be true. Kindness starts with yourself.
Hmm... I'd like to know more about your perspective. Are you saying that sometimes people use kindness as a way to cope with or validate their own struggles, even when it harms them? Or is it more about finding meaning in self-sacrifice?
More the former, since I can't speak for the latter. You can be suffering, yet reaching out to others crying for help 'cause you know how hard that place is to be in.
Problem is, there's a delicate balance to be achieved in sharing pain, without making it worse for both. Not everyone will get that.
Ah, I get what you mean now. Helping others because you understand their pain is a kind act, but it can take a toll. Sharing pain can connect us, but if it drains you, it risks harm for both. I guess it’s about knowing your limits. after all, you can’t pour from an empty cup.
Kindess is to give. Money, time, effort, etc. Being kind is having empathy for others. It makes the world a better place, yet not everyone deserve our kindness, some are just simply vampires.

That was a good talk though. Thank you!
