I hate it here
I contributed to this society by working from 18 to 65.
Reward?
Die cold & hungry.
The compact is broken.
Those working today see that.
I paid into a private pension.
I did not trust the government. Any government.
My sister at 68 did not.
She shivers under blankets, eating crackers.
Awful.
I’m glad you’re looking after your poor sister though.
The heating allowance loss hit her hard.
Local government,so obviously I earned less than my mates. I was paying more into the pension.
Thankfully

It's obv not a complete view when all services and lifestyle needs etc are taken into account but a start.
Most people do indeed do less well than average
MILLIONS CANNOT EVEN EARN ENOUGH TO PAY BASIC LIVING COSTS LET ALONE FCKING PENSIONS
I’m gobsmacked people don’t appear to know this 🤦🏻♀️
If pensioners have property they could downside to release capital and relieve pressure on the housing stock.
I don’t earn enough to cover my basic living costs ffs
Are you not aware of the state f millions & millions of us 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Bless you 🤦🏻♀️
Moving older people to unfamiliar surroundings, just when they need help, is not a good idea.
Young people are increasingly living with parent as they can't afford to buy/rent a home.
Never-ending austerity and cuts in real wages mean people can't save enough for old-age.
With a shrinking workforce, no immigration and a birth rate of 1.36, our society is screwed. And I'm not sorry to be kicking old people out of houses with bedrooms they can't afford.
Fck you old cxxxs, you can fck right off out of your houses you can’t afford because billionaires need more billionaires
Wow
1) We cannot afford as a society to subsidise every elderly widower to continue living in a three bedroom family home
2) Doing so would prioritise inherited wealth for the middle class at the expense of every taxpayer
Welfare state is there to back up people who lack other options.
But if you own a home & have the option to release equity + reduce your monthly costs by downsizing, it’s 100% reasonable to expect that
Forcing older people to move house doesn't sound very socialist but increased inheritance tax would help.
