Food Basics did really well at first but have swung on the mixed-source items. No stores want their American items rotting on the shelves and not all consumers are willing to be purists. It's up to us to check our own labels.

Grocery stores have been stiffing us for a while (esp Loblaws), so stuff rotting on their shelves ain't my problem. Here in ag country, it's just a few weeks til fields start getting worked. I predict a heavy season of gardens and buying from farmers markets. 100% Made in Canada. 😂🍁

Read the labels. Peanuts in the grocery store had a 'Canada product' sticker next to the price. My husband frowned. "We don't grow peanuts." Sure enough, 'Packaged in Canada, grown in USA.' No peanuts for us.

This is where it comes down to an individuals decision. Kraft/Heinz is owned by Robert Kraft an American business man but kraft peanut butter is made in Montreal by Canadian workers, Heinz ketchup Canada- Mount Royal, Quebec. So issue for me is do I buy & keep Canadians working or ... #Elbowsup
