Basically, what if you just played around more with the art?

I tried drastically departing from my style with something different and it was definitely jank. Texturing fur, having weirdo colors, having a more detailed background...it ended up a little odd and maybe even stiff...

But it was fun. It took a long time but you do things more and it takes less long as you learn. And it helped me figure out more about what I want to get out of doing art stylistically, even if that was mostly through ruling out certain ideas or techniques.

Thanks for the advice! It's an angle I hadn't considered. This feels like something I could play around with if I were to do more comic strips, which I do miss doing more often.

Yea, experimenting doesnt have to be a huge commitment. A low stakes comic could be enough to mess around with every now and again
