As a disabled, trans Canadian, I am trying to remain positive in light of everything, and especially for our disabled and trans siblings in America; but I am very concerned for the future for all three countries. Canada tends to follow not too far behind America
This seems performative. Assuming you expect the reader to verbally support their Canadian/Mexican friends, but then also go out & not buy their products locally cause there's a 10-25% surcharge on their goods? It's hypocrisy.
If anything, more likely to see turn around cause DOW Futures is down.
Considering a driving factor for Trump even winning was the state of the American economy, even under polling, I really don't think it is. What that says is most people are suffering financially at the moment.
I'm willing to see a different point of view based on your image, if provided one.
You in fact, do not give those vibes π
You interpreted the statement your own way and have labeled it as performative without even enquiring what it could be I'm trying to say. If you want to just be angry, go ahead
Regardless of the onslaught of insinuations, did I myself miss the vibe check of your original post? Is there a point other than what I stated previously that I was supposed to ascertain from the OP? I'm legitimately asking.
It's mostly a statement against tr/mp and a solidarity with the citizens of Canada, Mexico, and US citizens who will be affected by his temper tantrum. We support each other how we can and rely on each other for community in retaliation to his bs decision
The Canadians have had our back for ages and ages and we go and ruin our relationship with them overnight just because they don't want to be absorbed into the USA. This joke may be overused, but we really ARE living in Idiocracy aren't we?
Canada deserved better, even after nearly 10 whole years of dealing with a certain prime minister that is both a racist and a Nazi sympathizing fascist. How can I not call him a fascist?
He signed someone's Nazi flag in 2017 and let in an actual living Nazi veteran in the Canadian parliament.
We need to say it like it is. Tariffs push the tax burden from the rich to the working class and the poor. The super rich just took over, and instantly shift tax burden away from themselves.
Essentially yes! It's mostly a statement against tr/mp and a solidarity with the citizens of Canada, Mexico, and US citizens who will be affected by his temper tantrum. We support each other how we can, f the government
Canada has been our closest ally for DECADES even fighting right next to us in Afghanistan.
To do this to Canada and Mexico is just a slap in the face. It's disgusting
Iβm an First Nations person from Canada and I only stand with Mexico because they get the worst of all the hate between the two countries and all Mexican people deserve respect and better treatment by white Americans and white Canadians βπΌβπ½βπΎβπΏπ²π½π²π½π²π½
canadian living in the usa, married to a mexican who has his usa citisenship and i feel like my world is imploding with the bs thats happening just becuase the usa thought a cheeto puff would be a good president despite him being a convicted felon...screw the judge that didnt see fit to jail him.
Thank you, as a Canadian. We didn't want a trade war that will only make marginalized people in the US and Canada suffer. Trump, and the people who elected him and actively campaigned for him, did.
I sincerely hope you've been able to stock up on as many groceries as you can.
I hate that the bs in our own stupid country is seeping into others. I'm extremely concerned for the folks who will suffer from this in all countries affected.
I just wish I could help people more
What I've learned, and what I cling to, is that in the face of overwhelming darkness like this the best way to "do something" is to focus on taking care of our loved ones, friends, and communities. Join mutual aid groups, of volunteer at food banks. But most of all, take care of yourself.

i think this has all actually pushed canada away from that path - but who knows!

You are.
I don't regret my vote, but I am ashamed how ignorant my own people turned out to be. I promise, I'll fight against this!
