Agreed. It lost out in the reputation sweepstakes compared to My Favorite Wife but I think this one is so much more interesting, especially considering how it ends. Another example of a comedy slipping racy stuff past the Hays code.

Great point! And the performances are so perfect–charming and utterly hilarious! Really this is a totally underrated film all around!
