Hard ask for a first year player to be the defensive responsibility on your line while trying to be a scoring sensation too.
I think Demidov will be able to adapt to the defensive game quickly enough but starting to wonder on top of what you are saying, maybe Laine should be a 3rd line player/Power play specialist.
