The problem is really simple when you boil it down. A significant percentage of people in this country are smooth brained, gullible, arrogant, ignorant, lazy assholes. And a broken system at every level created them. But more than that, they CHOSE IT. They wanted this over books and thinking.

i agree - it comes down to your name - no critical thinking skills. i think it is the downside of too much info at their fingertips without having to do any work to find the info. we actually had to figure out "which books" to use for research - not just ask a question in search

plus, higher ed forces many people to face the fact that a lot of things you "thought that you knew - common sense" were wrong, misunderstood, taken out of context, etc., were in fact not true. esp regarding world history and upper level science. we know that there is a lot we don't know

I just want to put this out there: the basic answer to why tRump won in both 2016 & 2024 is because he was running against females. Both election examples depict that the U.S. would rather have a reality television celeb and criminal than a female in the White House. Which is utterly insane.
