it's clear that the regime is terrible, but let’s not fool ourselves into thinking HTS are liberators. Both sides are equally destructive, and in the end, it’s the Syrian people who will suffer most. That said, I can only hope they take down as many Russians and jihadists in their ranks as possible.

HTS was literally a part of ISIS around 2013 and their leader fell out with ISIS and pledged allegiance to Al-Qaida. I'd prefer Kurds (and even Assad over ISIS).

you have to look at this in context
their goal is to liberate their country and fight a dictator that butchers his own people and burns his own country to the ground. they were close to being eliminated. they joined whoever they felt would help them survive and liberate syria.

im sure some of them are religious fanatics, but not the majority. they dont want syria to turn into a country of ISIS, a new caliphate, like youre implying, thats nonsense... they also do not plan to turn syria into a hotbed for al qaida terrorists who launch attacks on US bases.

I am not aware of Assad regime doing this to a child (you can find the video of the incident, happened in 2016). Opposition are all extra extremist groups very similar to ISIS. Their interpretation of Islam is just like ISIS.
