I've never been into running but am interested to see if I can convince myself that it's enjoyable, as I've heard that's kind of a thing once you hit some threshold of doing it regularly
Has anybody done this, like gone from not running to running over a few months? Any strategies you liked?

I think it's more important to find *something* you enjoy doing, than thinking you *must* do the specific thing.
Maybe running isn't for you, but you end up absolutely loving rowing or cycling or strongman, etc
That, and when I first started, doing it socially with friends helped me get going.

There's the None to Run plan you can see online that could be helpful but I am planning on doing the Couch>half marathon plans within around a 16 week timeframe but I plan to start earlier in case its too hard
Also if you put on a nicotine patch before you go out you can Pavlov yourself into an exercise addiction
I don't condone this just thought it was interesting.
Oh, wait. Sorry. You meant running, like, running... 😉🤣
Sometimes I listen to podcasts. Or 🎶 & turn off 🧠, good for ideas
I'm about a quarter into marathon training and still enjoying it. I was mainly nice to myself to get there
+ get good shoes.
Good luck.
Then I got an injury and the niggles have never gone away. Many, many physios have tried. Running always makes things worse so I had to stop, I replaced it…
Always hated running but wanted to do something that needed no planning or special equipment.
My advice: use an app like "10K runner" or "Couch to 5K"! They help you ease into it safely and slowly.
You can do it! 😊
Then try a one-mile run and a walk combined to total a 5K. Gradually swap walking for running once per week. Keep walking regularly too.
also, running beside water/through trees/not on concrete makes it way, way better.
it can get strongly addicting until you stop for a bit, then you need to refind th motivation.
saw a colleague who was restless because she hadn't run that day. started using an app to track progress, setting random goals for monthly km's, followed by 'maybe I could manage a half' to two full marathons last year. running 'races' are also so energizing -everyone is nice.
At age 46 I started to replace cardio from the gym with running outside.
Bought a good pair of shoes in a store that did an analysis of my form. Followed a beginner ramp up schedule. Started with 1 minuten running, 3 mins walking, 12 reps.
This is the schedule (in Dutch, but its not that hard to understand):

Around week 5 I consistently went faster so I adjusted the target pace accordingly.
I run whenever I have time, around 3 times per week. Much more enjoyable than sitting on the couch.
And I cancelled my gym membership. However I did yet a bouldergym membership.
