Ps. ProTip. On the drive home from the blue lagoon, stop for a bit on the road and explore the moss on the side, it’s a multi thousands years+ old moss mattress that is amazing.
Also, the whole complex is output from a geothermal power station that brings up warm mineral rich waters from deep in the earth. When in the baths you can reach down and you are standing on bluish white crystalline mineral deposits that you can put on your face to make your skin feel refreshed.
In 2019, during a European family vacation, we intentionally scheduled an 8-hour layover at Keflavík to spend a few hours at Blue Lagoon. Kids didn't know much about #BlueLagoon before visiting it, and one of them exclaimed, "THIS IS THE BEST VACATION, EVER!" moments before getting into the water.
