I don't think the Russians are ready for the level of trauma which has been visited upon a generation of their men. It's going to be brutal.

The return rate might be significantly less than from Afghanistan (& Syria), though higher numbers total of course)

Side-note: WWI and/or WWII cripples were not tolerated long in postwar Russian cities, most were rounded up & locked away in remote institutions.

There have already been multiple instances that have been made public from returning Russian veterans who are traumatized doing horrific things to their neighbors. Who knows how many truly in total. Putin and his gang truly do not care for their citizens.

But, you would have to analyse/exclude the pre-wagner-prisoner contingent to exclusively attribute it to war-trauma (not denying that!).
Like comparing it with just releasing that same prisoner population into society without war trauma.

Oh yea, 100%. Whatever percentage of those prisoners who made it out alive from the Wagner meat assaults will most certainly not re-integrate well into their communities. I could only imagine how traumatic it will be for their families and neighbors.
