I think quite a lot would have to happen before the UK gave up. Starmer is playing things well atm and will continue to try to keep things cordial, but it's Trump who could throw his toys out of the pram at any time.

I like an occasional bet, but I wouldn't put money on how this will play out.

I see you can get odds of 12/1 on Trump "exiting" the presidency in 2025. I'll check the small print, but if it includes assassination then I might stick a fiver on. Perhaps even a tenner.
