Windows 'Update and Shut Down' is essentially just 'Update and Restart'

I always hard shut down, windows can't be trusted for whatever reason

And I thought I was going insane

When i walk to my bed and lay down after clicking Update and Shutdown, only for the monitor to still be displaying after the update.

Yup, same here. Ill wake up in the morning and my wallpapers staring back at me. Very dazed and confused

YEAH IT JUST DID THAT LAST NIGHT! I’m like why have them be separate options then???

That shit is so annoying 😭😭

The amt of angry I get when I turn off my PC to update and it then turns back on when I am cozy in bed is too much sometimes

Me last night wanting to sleep, getting comfy, then boom flashbang from my monitor thinking did I or did I not hit shutdown after update

theres some core settings u can change to guarantee it does a full power down...i know the tutorials out there i did it with my pc

HONESTLY A SCAM why would they lie like this

I HATE this so much. Especially on my laptop where my default boot is Linux, so it just foils its own plans

It ought to shut down after updating 🤔
