I think it does the same animation for all new Pokemon now (I got the same one for my Normal Escavalier)- it's just that it now registers Shinies into a ShinyDex!

I caught a Klink for the first time earlier and was completely caught off guard by the massive change in animation. It looks so good now (it looked fine before, but it's definitely better like this)!
