I Gotcha by Joe Tex. It has so much creepiness in it I wonder how it ever got played on the radio. I also wonder why Joe ever recorded it. And who the hell wrote it? Horrible song.
That was the theme song for a series of filmstrips we watched in high school biology. For some reason, we thought it was hilarious and interrogated the teacher about whether it was a real song.
It did when it came out in the early 70s. At least on the am station I listened to (WPGC in the DC suburbs). It totally creeped me out. And though I haven't heard it since then, it still does.
