Serious question, are Weird Wizard scenarios easily convertable to Shadow of the Demon Lord? Or are those games so far apart that it is hard / not worth it to do? (complete Weird Wizard noob here)

Totally. You will have to fudge the numbers a bit, but the plots work for both games and you can use monster rules from SDL.
