They got out voted by the worst piece of crap that ever ran for president. Biden could beat him - by a large margin. But a qualified woman? No.
That tells me a lot of stupid people are so misogynistic they'd cut their own throats before allowing a woman president. May they choke on their decision.
What pisses me off is that the only two times the Democratic party could get its shit together to run a woman were on the heels of a Democratic incumbent. Since FDR, there is only one time when the White House went to the candidate from the party in power.
It doesn't. Clinton didn't lose because she was a woman, she lost because she's Hillary Clinton. Harris didn't lose because she was a woman, she lost because she was dropped in six minutes before the election and asked to unbake a cake that had been in the oven for four years.
You’re just making numbers up. Clinton had been the subject of literally 24 years of Republican propaganda demonizing her. To say nothing of her actual liabilities. She was never a viable candidate and it was hubris for Democrats to nominate her.
Elections at this level are never “general.” They’re always about the specifics of person and party involved. And they’re also in a context: I don’t know where you get this 5% figure from, but in reality, Rs vote for the R candidate, Ds vote for the D, and Is vote for their gestalt.
People all over the country were angry that their choices for president would be "two old men." Kamala Harris, a brilliant, experienced, hugely qualified, perfectly aged woman, became the Democratic candidate. She lost to a feeble old man. How is this possible?
I'd love to think AOC could take this shit show down... but the demonization of women has only just begun... team that with some good old fashioned racism 😭
Because white folks men and women, especially white women would rather having a dumb ass white man in office than an intelligent white or black woman to run this country way to go white folks
Because those women are awesome and it is our profound loss as a country that many men and some women were threatened by them. Shutting women out won’t make our country safer and stronger. Inclusion is the mother’s milk of strength.
The United States & the Retreat from Enlightenment Ideals: Entering an Anti-Enlightenment Era

I can almost excuse Clinton's loss because many people had no idea who trump was. But to vote for trump for any reason a second time, whether he ran against Biden or Harris, is just baffling.
I think Harris would have won IF Biden had stuck to one term. I think she could have legitimately won the Democratic Primary and then won the election.
As a historical independent voter, it was sickening to watch because I saw the election of the felon as a traitorous act.
I'm a registered Independent. I'm also not crazy & knew a second term of trump would be a disaster. He's not through his first year & it's already been horrendous. They're not only gutting safety nets, they're actively implementing fascism by arresting people who disagree with them & ignoring SCOTUS
It didn't take a genius to see where this was going. Only someone who was also a fascist, racist or stupid would let technicalities like not officially winning a primary (not Harris' fault) stop them from voting to protect their own interests. I hope they get to feel the pain of their stupidity.
H. Clinton threw every alleged victim of B. Clinton under the bus and then tried to ride on "I'm with her." B. Clinton never won a majority vote (R. Perot influence allowed a minority vote to win).
H. Clinton was never a viable candidate.
This is what Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion was supposed to address: that the very most qualified candidate would have a chance over a pre-ordained mediocre, if not woefully unqualified, white man.
Isn't it a strange time(s) for the Dems to test the viability of a female candidate? The second being a female candidate of color? Almost as if they were chosen because they'd lose.
Let's not forget Citizens United, gutting of the VRA, racial gerrymandering, rat fucking of the USPS, needless and erroneous voter ID laws, et cetera all making a Dem winning an uphill battle...

Women can win a different race.
Anything she didn't have covered, it seemed like he did.
And both formidably capable people, which I can't say of T/V.
In 2016 swing voters voted red, electing 45
In 2020 swing voters voted blue, electing Biden
In 2024 swing voters voted red, electing 47.
Our country is locked into this political two-step every 4 years, affecting all the rest of us.
Same shit... different hat...
