My issue is that leadership has gone completely off the rails. Even if they wanted to, I don't think they know how to ring the alarm anymore. The last 20yrs has just been learning how to turn anything into fundraising. Seemingly every single grassroots organizer gets marginalized instead of elevated

Lack of civics education, rise of influencer era, declining reading levels, social media eclipsing the news industry, increased anti-intellectualism & mistrust of government - these all happened since Obama was elected. It all plays a role.

Part of the reason it's hard for Dems to message is because it's a moving target. And ppl are simultaneously telling them they need to try to win over conservatives AND move more to the left. Messaging on the right is very simple. Plus they just LIE.
