Please don't block me. I really want to know the answer to the following.

Some of us have blue senators and representatives -- what should we be doing? I'm not sure calling them is the best use of my time.

I prefer to talk to staffers if possible (and local offices rather than the DC one)

I still contact my representatives even though every last one of them is so deep in Daddy Trump's pocket they're, well, I won't draw you a picture. It does absolutely no good, but I want it on record that they do NOT have my support and their constituents (and history) are holding them accountable.

Does calling actually do anything? I feel like I'm talking into a void when I do. How does this work? Sorry if this is an obvious question it just feels so pointless, like the quoted said. Do they track number of dissent comments vs. number of support and actually adhere to that?

Yes, they do. They can use constituent reactions to justify their positions and sway colleagues, and if it’s an issue they’re unfamiliar with, constituent directives can guide their decisions

"Not even if he's asking to buy you brunch should you say yes to anything regarding RFK Jr."

I also described the treatment of the federal service as "unconscionable bullying."

Tip: If you're going to send the same message, ex "Please vote NO for JFKjr's confirmation.", write out you sentence in another text app, then just copy and paste it for each Senator you contact. You do *NOT* have to write an essay! (But you can.)

I will second this - I called my congresscritter yesterday to say hey, you vote the way i like 99% of the time, what more can you do? had good chat with his office staff about ways he can speak up more forcefully against these actions and they stressed that calls and emails like mine are important
