4 was actually quite deadly for OpenGL. In China they would skip 4.

IMHO: after the HLSL frontend is upstreamed into Clang and the bytecode switched to SPIRV they should just call the whole thing 'HLSL 202x toolchain' and bundle the 3D API headers and libraries with their custom Clang toolchain installer.
'DX versions' have become pointless anyway.
