Nearly every city in the greater LA area has its own protest. That isn't the case in many other places, where driving to the nearest major city is the only option.
But also consider that maybe a lot of people have already been out all week.
I don't know what purpose a comment like this serves.
I thought the same of the last march I went to in LA. should have been way bigger considering population and demographics. The majority of people seemed to be over 50. Very few younger people turning out
The other cities having marches splits the number. SFV and OC March locations added together, I would expect is the turnout volume we used to have in 2001
You do know that all 4M don’t live in the downtown LA area and there are protests all over the city, right? And you understand that many immigrants are afraid to go to work, school or shop let alone go to a protest being circled by ICE, National Guard and Marines. Were you at a protest today??
Nearly 20m live within a one hour drive of LA. The turnout is poor. Many other cities are showing massive crowds, with nowhere near that population to draw on.
Many people are living paycheck to paycheck and have to work multiple jobs and can’t take off to protest. Many more are elderly and children that can’t go without someone getting them there. As things escalate and people loose jobs more will show going forward.
