I sometimes use airbrush for larger areas, but mostly just my simple round brush, and them blend them with smudge tool.

Nope, I just used ClipStudioPaint's 3D model reference, where you can adjust it's pose and lighting. It's a pretty useful feature in making poses.

When working on values, you have to consider color theory when you start adding colors. There are certain colors that looks brighter/darker than the others, and also depending on their saturation. The more saturated the color, the darker it looks.

There's an option called "Joint angle limit", and you just have to uncheck it. That way, you can move the body parts in anyway you want.
