On 9 February 1991, a referendum was held in Lithuania about of Lithuania being an independent democratic republic. Exactly 34 years later, Lithuania cut off the last connection with the invaders - electrical connections and is joining the networks of continental Europe.

Let's hope Kaliningrad is unable to get any power from Russia now and begins to suffer blackouts. Isolated from Russia, locals in Kaliningrad may start to push for independence finally when they realize a better future is possible with Europe as a fourth Baltic Republic.
