Most of the big vtubers (especially the ones at bigger agencies like Hololive) have been doing streaming work for years under various identities. It would be weirder if they weren't around that age, or at least over 25.
One that's been stuck in my head for years is how Okayu was talking about Pokémon once and was like "wait but Diamond is one of the newer ones isn't it"
Reminds me of when Plave (kpop vtuber group) got their identities doxxed and stans were being shocked like "eww they're in their thirties, they lied!" And vtuber fans had to explain how playing a character and puppets worked
Also because of the ageist kpop system, talented and skilled performers older than mid 20s could only be accepted like this/continue working like this so for all the whining about how they wanted "older idols", they couldn't accept it when they actually got it
