If you think you’re a good person and not racist, but you don’t hold elected officials accountable—including Democrats who uphold institutionalized racism, profit off prisons, immigration, and the NRA—you are part of the problem.

Then you are not an ally. You are upholding racism. Silence, inaction, and complicity are what allow institutionalized racism to thrive. And that is far more insidious than overt hate because it operates unchecked.
I am TIRED of people pretending to care while I continue to experience racism firsthand. And that includes my fellow Black and brown peers—if you haven’t stood up when I was being violated by racism, you are complicit too.
