I agree. but in my experience, the SW "community" isn't a community. Maybe there is in person SW community but not online. I've been harassed, doxxed, had my former brand destroyed by slander on r/sexworkers (a blatant lie) all by other SW's. and I hate to say this. But whores will often be whores.🧵

I'm so sad this has been your experience. Mine has been largely different but it's not that I haven't encountered that bullshit (sans doxxing issues), but I've largely been fortunate in avoiding such people.

Sex Workers and other NSFW creators seem to be perpetual targets for various platforms, after they helped make those platforms a success. I remember when OF tried to remove all of them, only to find *shockingly!* that would have killed their business. Leave alone those not harming others.

If Bluesky's technical design philosophy survives this phase, then purchasing a subscription should never have any practical necessity to it anyway, and if that ever changes then it's a major signal that it's time to decentralize into a mesh of ATProto services instead of one monolith

Yup. It's dominoes. Transgender people are targeted first, then LGBTQ+ people, then sex workers, then purveyors of erotica, all in the name of driving the world back into a pure and wonderful (and nonexistent) time when everyone was straight and cis, and no one had sex until after their vows.

Purveyors of erotica, sex educators, and adult toy reviewers are functionally lumped in with sex workers based on my non-SW experience on other platforms.

Shadowbans and deboosts don't distinguish between what the labor is - they just smother you out if it's sex, period.

They need to err on the side of yeet. Getting kicked isn’t a death sentence to trouble makers. But trouble makers not getting kicked IS a death sentence for people being bullied.
