that's so perfect. Also, I spotted one in the wild yesterday (my first time) and I was blown away by JUST how ugly it looks. People who put 125K up for these are the same type of folks that bought out the limited edition Trump NFTs in record time

So true. It's crossed my mind a few times how infuriatingly simple it would be for a sociopath/grifter to make money especially at this time more than any other period in living memory. If only we didn't have principles, we could try to cash in. Strange days

It's crossed my mind a lot as well. I don't know what the deal is in other countries but in the US it's unbelievably easy to scam people (and not just older folks either), and anyone unburdened by a conscience would likely find it hard to not be tempted by this.

you're right, that's a good point - it's sort of a self-sustaining cycle because the infrastructure already exists for the grift and there's people salivating to hear more of their perspective played back at them in various ways

Yep, and we also have a cultural idea that says it's possible for anyone to strike it rich at any time, and so a lot of people are always hopeful that *this* will be the investment/MLM/whatever that makes them wealthy. The pattern is clear yet people continually fall for it.
