There are many methods that can reduce the smell. Their effectiveness varies, however.
In my personal experience, airing out, especially near an air purifier (not sure how this works chemically), seems to help a little. Still have tons to replace though. :/

If you have a freezer you ignore, you can throw them in bare, or covered in coconut oil. It also helps a little, but not totally.
Heat would be oven at a reasonable temp (then scrub), or boiling water.
Ultimately, it won't free them of the cig cling, but it can help a bit. TBH I'd seek out new (either brand new or secondhand) ones.
